KPVFC 4th Annual Food Drive to Help 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve’s Campout for Hunger

Campout for HungerKPVFC has started their 4th Annual food drive to help 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve’s Campout for Hunger. If you are not familiar, Preston and Steve are the morning show hosts during the week on 93.3 WMMR. For years they have camped out at the Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting where they collect food for Philabundance. They broadcast their morning show LIVE from the tent in the parking lot and live in a RV in the lot during the week. This year the event is being held November 26th thru November 30th.

KPVFC started 4 years ago with collecting food from our community to make a donation to the food drive. The past couple years, the volunteers from KPVFC have volunteered their time the Wednesday night during the week long event to help unload donations and load up the trucks with the hundreds of boxes filled with these donations. During this time, KPVFC makes their donation also.

Last year, KPVFC was able to donate close too 500 lbs of food. While this is a sizeable donation, we feel we can do better and are reaching out to more people to support our efforts. This year we will be making our donation on Wednesday, November 28th and will be staying to volunteer our time.

If you would like to participate in this event some of the items that can always be used are:

Canned/ Shelf-stable tuna

Macaroni and Cheese

Canned Pasta

Canned Beef Stew

Canned Chili

Creamy Peanut Butter

Jelly

Canned Green Beans

Canned Corn

Canned Fruit

Breakfast Cereal and Hot Cereal

We are also willing to take cash donations in addition to gift cards for local stores (Acme, Giant, Bottom Dollar, Wegmans to name a few) for us to go purchase the items listed above.

Item donations can be made by dropping them off at either KPVFC Fire Station (170 Allendale Rd or 300 W Beidler Rd). Monetary, gift card donations, item donation arraignments or addition questions/information can be made by contacting Kevin Katarynick at vicepresident@kpvfc.com.

Pet food donations are also accepted by Philabundance and can be delivered to the Upper Merion Township Library. For more information contact the Upper Merion Township Library or check them out on facebook.

The members of KPVFC are thankful for your continued support of our organization and our events!

Sincerely,

Kevin M. Katarynick
