Theft Report
Kremer Laser Eye Center, 200 Mall Blvd. β Wednesday, 08/18/10 between 1200-1300 hrs.
β Manager reported that cash was stolen from the desk of an employee.
Legal Sea Food, 690 W. DeKalb Pk. β Friday, 08/20/10 between 2113-2116 hrs. – An employee observed two males and a female enter the restaurant, walk around the bar area and then leave.Β The employee believed that the suspects stole a customerβs purse at the bar.Β The victim was contacted regarding the possible theft and she was informed by her bank that her debit card had been used to make a purchase at an unknown location.
Plaza Lot, Pole 13E, 160 N. Gulph Rd. β Saturday, 08/21/10 between 1015-1440 hrs.Β β Victim reported that unknown person(s) stole a hubcap off of the vehicle.
Retail Theft
Abercrombie and Fitch, 160 N. Gulph Rd. β Friday, 08/20/10 at 1506 hrs. β Complainant reported that an unknown female removed numerous pieces of clothing and exited the store.Β The suspect is described as being 5β5β, 190 lbs, with black hair.
Criminal Mischief
Hampton Inn, 530 W. DeKalb Pk. β Friday, 08/20/10 between 1100-2142 hrs. β Hotel employee reported that while checking the fifth floor he noticed that the door to a room was partially open.Β When he opened the door he observed that the room had been vandalized.
Theft from Vehicle
East Garage, Level 2 1/2E, 160 N. Gulph Rd. β Sunday, 08/22/10 between 1200-1520 hrs. Β β Victim reported that her purse was stolen from inside her vehicle.Β Unknown person(s) gained entry by smashing a side window with a hammer as it was later found inside the vehicle.
AREA NORTH OF ROUTE 202 AND WEST OF HENDERSON ROAD
Theft from Vehicle
Maschellmac Office Bldg., 1000 1st Ave. β Tuesday, 08/17/10 between 1130-1245 hrs. β Victim reported that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that a side window had been broken out and a check was missing.Β A witness stated that he saw a male hanging out in the area where the vehicle was parked.
300 Block of Prince Frederick St. β Thursday, 08/19/10 at 0737 hrs. Victim reported that unknown person(s) entered an unlocked vehicle overnight and stole the registration and insurance cards.
300 Block of Prince Frederick St. β Between Wednesday, 08/18/10 at 2200 hrs. and Thursday, 08/19/10 at 0830 hrs. β Victim reported that unknown person(s) entered two unlocked vehicles and stole the registration cards.
Criminal Mischief
200 Block of Pleasant Valley Rd. β Sunday, 08/22/10 between 0330-0530 hrs. β Victim reported that during the above listed times he heard a loud bang from the street.Β At 0700 hours he discovered that unknown person(s) had thrown a block through the window of his vehicle.
Theft Report
VF Convention Center, 1200 1st Ave. β Between Thursday, 08/19/10 at 1900 hrs. and Friday, 08/20/10 at 0945 hrs. β Victim reported that he set up his display at the convention center and when he returned the next morning he discovered that assorted jewelry was missing.
Theft in Progress
800 Block of W. Valley Forge Rd. β Sunday, 08/22/10 at 2218 hrs. β While on routine patrol UMPD Officers observed a male behind the building dragging a piece of metal gutter.Β The male then ran to a vehicle where another male was sitting in the passenger seat.Β The males were taken into custody and were charged with Theft and related offenses.

Theft from Vehicle
500 Block of Crooked Lane β Between Wednesday, 08/18/10 at 2000 hrs. and Thursday, 08/19/10 at 0700 hrs. β Victim reported that a GPS Unit was stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle.
200 Block of Glenwood Rd. β Between Wednesday, 08/18/10 at 1930 hrs. and Thursday, 08/19/10 at 0645 hrs. β Victim reported that a GPS Unit, cash and loose change were stolen from inside a vehicle.Β There were no signs of forced entry and the victim was unsure if the vehicle was locked.
500 Block of Crooked Lane β Between Wednesday, 08/18/10 at 2000 hrs. and Thursday, 08/19/10 at 0830 hrs. β Victim reported that a portable music player, FM Transmitter, loose change and a ring were stolen from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.
Burglary Report
LeBus Bakery, 479 Shoemaker Rd. β Between Friday, 08/20/10 at 2230 hrs. and Saturday, 08/21/10 at 0145 hrs. βManager reported that unknown person(s) had burglarized the lobby and several offices.Β Assorted office equipment was reported stolen.

100 Block of Walnut St. β Sunday, 08/22/10 at 0000 hrs. β Victim reported that several tires on a vehicle had been slashed.
700 Block of Tose St. β Sunday, 08/22/10 at 0048 hrs. β Complainant reported that he heard something hitting his house and later found golf balls in his yard.
200 Block of Jefferson St. β Between Saturday, 08/21/10 at 2230 hrs. and Sunday, 08/22/10 at 2230 hrs. β Victim reported that unknown person(s) threw a brick through a window of his vehicle while it was parked.

Retail Theft
Home Depot, 181 S. Gulph Rd. β Wednesday, 06/30/10 at 1910 hrs. β Store employees reported several incidents of theft where two males entered the store; loaded appliances onto a cart, and walked out of the store without paying.Β As the result of the investigation two subjects were later arrested.
Home Depot, 181 S. Gulph Rd. β Monday, 08/23/10 between 1916-2047 hrs. (10-15284) β UMPD Officers observed a male push a shopping cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying.Β This male was able to elude police; however a second male was taken into custody.
Criminal Mischief
US Petro, 455 W. DeKalb Pk. β Thursday, 08/19/10 between 2214-2236 hrs. β Complainant reported that while he was in the kitchen area of the store he heard a loud crash.Β He later discovered that the glass on the entrance door was shattered.Β
Aggravated Assault Arrest
Motel 6, 815 W. DeKalb Pk. β Thursday, 08/26/10 at 0639 hrs. β UMPD responded for a report of an armed subject in the parking lot of the Best Western. Upon arrival Officers found a male holding a knife and he was taken into custody without incident.Β Officers then observed another male who was bleeding from the back. Further investigation revealed that these subjects were involved in a fight in the parking lot resulting in the victim being stabbed by suspect.Β The suspect was charged with Aggravated Assault and other related offenses.
